The order was not taken immediately but the food did arrive in a timely fashion... we were the only eat-in diners at 600 pm but there were several take-out orders picked up while we were there. Service was.... not great - and that’s a diplomatic assessment. I don’t mind a bit of brisque attitude... as long as the food is stellar. The soup was tasty... a reasonable balance of flavour and broth/noodle/beef ratio. Bean sprouts served on the side however and not consumed looked tired’ and a bit slimy to be honest. A wedge of lime served with the sprouts also a bit dried out. Accompanying basil looked like it had been languishing for a few days... browned leaves and off-cut stems. Bottled water was not available and a glass of tap water was brought in its place.... not acceptable really. A request for utensils and napkins met with a curt response that they would be brought to the table when pick-up orders in process had been cleared. Disappointing. Not sure I’ll go back. Definitely won’t recommend this spot to anyone in the near future. It’s unfortunate because I believe this is a small family business... and I would like to continue to support it but... ingredients need to be fresh and front of house needs a lesson in customer service. The next instance, we went and dined in and I forgot the number and name of the soup I usually order since I always just ask for "vegetable noodle soup". It's one of those menus with pages and pages of menu items with numbers that you have to right down on a form. You don't order directly to the server/owner. We sat down and I asked him which number the soup was or the name of it on the menu. He told me the TomYum soup, so I ordered it. When it arrived I knew it wasn't the soup I usually order and said it wasn't the right one. He told me "Well that's what you ordered!" and continued to say this to me. Then pulled out our form we filled out, threw it down onto the table, pointed at what I had written and said "LOOK!" We just decided to order the right one and he didn't comp us for the other soup. Which we said fine, well take it home and my husband will eat it tomorrow for lunch. We were pretty ticked off about it but we decided to go back again a week or two later. I went to the washroom and while I was in the washroom, the server/owner brought the menus and the paper pad and told my husband "Make sure she orders the right one this time!"
